The Best Halloween Costume Ideas
Halloween time is the time for creativity and for play. Time for the kid in all of us to have some fun and look the part. The best costume ideas are waiting for you in your own closet. With very little effort, but, a bit of creativity, home-made costumes are at your fingertips. The make-up that is already in your drawer is perfect for that Halloween Night on the town. Using regular foundation and patting flour into it while it is still damp makes the base for the ghoulish appearance. Use green, brown, and grey eyeshadows on the cheeks, chin, & forehead for the undead look. Draw age lines with eyeliner. For the hair, back comb it, shake flour and glitter into it, then seal it with
hairspray. You can also just use a clean string mop for a wig.
For the costume, if a mad scientist is what you’re going for, use a long night shirt cut down the front. Paint the pockets and buttons onto it. Remember that bride’s maid dress you’re never going to wear again? Now, it’s a perfect costume. Put some rips in it, splatter some red paint on it, drive over it with a car. You’re now one of the undead. Hubby gained some weight? Find a large box that will fit over him. Cut holes for his head and arms. Cover the box in foil. Put foundation on his face with flour. If you have shiny eyeshadow, put it on his face to give that robotic look.
Whether you’re creating a costume for an adult or a child, homespun creativity and ingenuity always works.
